On Friday K’firim celebrated יום מעשים טובים Yom Ma’asim Tovim (A day of good deeds), in which we wrote thank you notes to the kitchen staff, gave presents to the daycare, wrote letters of appreciation to IDF soldiers, and had a shab
bat-o-gram station at snacktime. We encouraged the entire camp to do small acts of חסד (loving kindness) not just for one day, but every day. The חניכים now understand that doing something kind for someone else only takes a small amount of time, but makes a big difference.

The חניכים now understand that doing something kind for someone else only takes a small amount of time, but makes a big difference.After a peaceful Shabbat(it was very sunny too!), Sunday brought יום ישראל Yom Yisrael (Israel Day). The משלחת (Counselors from Israel) planned an entire day of Israel education and Israeli themed fun! Highlights included a hayride, making homemade Pita, and learning what it is like to be in Tzahal (the IDF). The kids also got to go through an “Israeli” שוק (marketplace) and buy sweets and goodies.
That evening, we had a lovely טקס (ceremony) to celebrate the amazing things Israel has done both for our people and our world. Kfirim made a music video to the song אנשים טובים באמצע הדרך Anashim Tovim B’emtza Haderech, by Naomi Shemer.
