I did something very strange last week. It was clear that I needed a little ray of sunshine, a little break from the extreme, bitter cold that is sweeping the nation. So I decided to book our beach outings for Kayitz ’19. Yup! You read that right. While I was shivering INSIDE and dreading walking my dog OUTSIDE, I was also picturing chanichim (campers) and madrichim (counselors) enjoying the hot New England summer, playing and lounging in the water or on the sand. Of course, I’ve built in flexibility of dates in order to be able to work around inclement weather, but it seemed like a good pick-me-up for now. Summertime for campers is truly memorable and the wait in between can seem interminable. How do you keep the Yavneh magic alive during the remainder of the year?
Stay safe and stay warm! Can’t wait for summertime heat at the Machaneh!
